The Deerstone Eco Hideaway

The Deerstone occupies six acres in Glendalough Valley, surrounded by traditional sheep farms, the rolling hills of Wicklow National Park, and the Inchavore river. Located an hour from Dublin and within walking distance of Laragh village, it sits on the doorstep of Glendalough National Park and the Wicklow Way. The resort comprises five eco-conscious luxury cottages, five dog-friendly shepherd's huts, and two deluxe guestrooms—21 luxury ensuite bedrooms in total, accommodating up to 42 guests.

All accommodation has been conscientiously designed to connect guests with the surrounding landscape. Furniture, fittings, and materials have been sourced locally and as sustainably as possible. The cottages feature three ensuite bedrooms, kitchenettes with electric hobs and combi ovens, BBQ areas, private hot tubs with outdoor showers, sauna access, and wireless movie projectors. The shepherd's huts include fully furnished interiors, shower ensuites with award-winning eco compost toilets, kitchenettes, private terraces with mountain views, and self-service wood-fired Japanese soak baths. Guest rooms offer super king beds convertible to twins, ensuite bathrooms, and access to shared facilities.

The Deerstone operates with an A1 BER energy rating, powered by solar energy, with rainwater harvesting and compostable toilets. Food is central to the experience: dedicated chefs prepare locally sourced seasonal menus, from breakfast hampers and nutritionally balanced vegan lunches to fine dining. On request, the team offers specialty hampers, charcuterie boards, s'more fireside packs, picnic lunches, and homemade gourmet pizzas.

The venue hosts yoga retreats, corporate groups, and exclusive hire events, with gatherings ranging from wellness retreats and away days to celebrations and launch parties. Communal facilities include multiple event spaces and gathering areas. The Deerstone's events team collaborates with experienced local guides to offer activities including hiking, foraging, trail running, mountain and trail biking, wild swimming, yoga, tai chi, bush craft, axe throwing, forest bathing, guided meditations, sound healing, survival skills, one-to-one coaching, cooking demonstrations, and private wine tasting.

Retreats are hosted year-round by visiting facilitators and feature accessible yoga practices combined with nourishing activities, delicious food, and luxury accommodation immersed in nature. Signature Deerstone retreats include wellness weekends, spring and Easter escapes, and festive breaks. The venue can comfortably host up to 24 guests for private retreat bookings.
